This year celebrating 32 years of unequalled services to the Arts in Brent....a proud record! 15th January – 8th February Stephen Hennessy– “The twisted mind in foreign lands” New paintings and drawings from the twisted mind. His one man crusade abroad having borne little fruit, he is now once more walking down the boulevard of broken dreams (Neasden).
12th February – 8th March Jessica Claire – "Whispers of old town” Fixing time and letting flow...... In an improbable collection of unfinished narrations, I capture the fading and try to give body to my vanishing dreams. Forgotten moments whispered in your ear......
12th March – 5th April Rhiannon Hunter Multi-layered printed textiles create urban environments where boundries blur and the physical world is a transient product of time. Mark making the process prompt our imagination to roam as the recognisable merges with the unknown.
23rd April – 17th May David Borrington My recent work deals with translating topical and current issues into my own fantastical landscapes. The narratives are all rooted in reality and yet, via means of imagination they become more obscure.
21st May – 14th June Wembley Art Society The sixteenth exhibition at the Stables of watercolours, drawings, oils and mixed media work by this long established and local arts society. |
18th June – 12th July
Jane Williams – “The shuffle of things” A touring exhibition of rarities, curiosities and archaeological treasures from the imaginary cabinets of Leasingstede, a west country local history museum. It includes, surprisingly enough artefacts connected to Gladstone park.
16th July – 9th August Stables Summer Show This special summer show features artists associated with the Stables Art Galler. Tha show incudes a diverse mixture of styles, themes and techniques.
13th August – 6th September Justine Blau Installations, videos and sculptures that explore cultural traditions, questions on identity and the realm of childhood. Her practise is concerned with our yearning for exoticism and the way it is conveyed through culture, media or tourism.
17th September – 11th October
Dollis Hill Art Group Annual summer show of watercolours, oils and mixed media works by this local arts group based here at the Stables Art Centre.
15th October – 8th November John Field – “Painting” These paintings do not literally represent the external world; instead they focus on exploring painterly qualities such as colour, form, physicality and energy to create energetic and striking compositions. 12th November – 6th December Brent Camera Club The Brent Camera Club exists for all photographers exhibiting for the first time in the Stables Gallery, this collection includes the best of the club's work in the past year. |

"The Stables" is a converted and re-furbished stable block and the gallery, which is situated in the stables, still retains many of its original features including the wooden stalls and feeding troughs, thus making it an interesting and unique venue in which to stage art exhibitions.
There is also the "The Hayloft", a large room for hire on the first floor, above the gallery, overlooking the park and beautifull walled garden, suitable for meetings, presentations, lectures and rehearsals etc. The Stables is a tremendous asset to have in the park, not only for its arts programme but as a centre for use by the community. The GPCC hold their meetings at the Stables in the Hayloft and The Madhatters Theatre Club use it for their rehearsals on a regular basis.
The Brent Camera Club meets at the Stables using both the Hayloft and darkroom facilities that are available. Anyone at any level of photography is welcome to join, for more detailed information of the club and its meetings contact Mark Cummins on 020 8964 0423.
For full details on hiring The Hayloft please use the contact details listed above. | |
